Week of Prayer - Day 5 - Reflection

Head of Operations Luke Hamilton writes:

Today we set aside time to give thanks for fellowship in prayer over this week – we rely completely on God’s Word, Spirit, and healthy community to produce fruit. So let us continue to practice and pursue God’s vision and keep us related to one another – without “communication” we would not have the New Testament!

Requests

Next year I would like us to reflect on two requests that were committed in this week of prayer and delivered by God in perfect timing.

First, for those who have felt a call to pursue this ministry further to get in touch with your words of encouragement. We have felt there are new trustees ready to set up and help guide us in this next season. No-one is beyond being used by God for His purposes!

Second, we have been blessed with the opportunity to grow our team with a renewed focus on skills and experience in the area of fundraising.

Ivan Filby has a fantastic track record in delivering results and leadership in this field and has welcomed a role on the team – working one day a week – seeking new avenues of growth and scaling of income.

I want to commit to pray for the financial resources to allow him to start and begin this task. We need £2,100 to cover the first six month’s costs of employment. After this time, it is expected that the role will become self-sustaining. Please pray for those who can step forward and support the finances needed.

Sample prayers

Father, help me hear what you have for me today. Amen.

Go before us, Lord, in all our doings, with Your most gracious favour, and further us with Your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in You, we may glorify Your holy name, and finally by Your mercy attain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grant us, Lord God, a vision of Your world as Your love would have it and give us the inspiration and courage to build it, in the power of the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
